WOW! What an amazing month for the Telepresence Industry! First off, did anyone see the Cisco TelePresence Human Network commercials that are airing during this seasons NFL Football games? A great sign that public adoption of Telepresence is near.

In other news from the 24/7 Telepresence Breaking News reel at the Telepresence Forum, BT announced that they’ve launched their inter-company Telepresence solution, Proctor & Gamble implemented new Telepresence rooms, Polycom received a “Rising Star” for their innovations and Verizon Teamed with Cisco to offer new productivity enhancing services using Cisco’s collaboration portfolio. Did I mention this was just a few of the Telepresence highlights from this past week? Hundreds of Telepresence news articles hit the wire this last month, and if the past is any indication of the future, we’ll see those Telepresence news posts double by Spring 2009.

I also noticed that companies like Digital Video Enterprises, Telepresence Options and of course our Telepresence Forum were listed in the Open Directory Project at www.DMOZ.org. Pretty big news considering Telepresence didn’t exist, or even have a category just a month ago or so in the human edited ODP.

Our website traffic amongst our 345+ Telepresence related domains has tripled since early August, another indication that Telepresence is getting ready to explode onto Main Street. People are “hearing” of it, people are “researching” it, and once they’ve performed their due diligence, they’ll “see and feel” what the pioneers of the Telepresence industry have been saying. Telepresence is near; Telepresence is here.

"Ride on the Next Plane of Existence" TM

Orange County (PRWEB) June 3, 2007 -- Bob McCandless, CEO of The McCandless Group and Cameron Durckel, Director of the Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in San Diego are scheduled to present "Are You Carbon Neutral? An Update on Global Warming and How Telepresence Can Help you Go Green and Increase Productivity" at this years Telepresence World conference, at the University of San Diego, San Diego, California. As the CEO of The McCandless Group, Mr. McCandless will present the current carbon footprints of business and its' effects of global warming. Additionally, he will talk about how telepresence solutions such as BrightCom, a subsidiary of The McCandless Group, are aiding enterprise businesses to join in fight for environmental efficiency with high quality video and audio conferencing solutions. As a representative of Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in San Diego, Mr. Durckel will add to the presentation, discussing the Governor's position on efforts to reduce the use of fossil fuels and the current and future plans for energy programs.

With the breakthrough legislation AB32, California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has driven the state to be a leader in the fight against global warming. Telepresence solutions are at the forefront of this effort, allowing more businesses to reduce their travel time and consumption of fossil fuels ultimately reducing greenhouse gas emissions and curtailing global warming. While advocating for an environmentally safe state, Governor Schwarzenegger is also paying attention to its economy.

"People always say you can't be pro-business and pro-environment, but they are dead wrong," said Gov. Schwarzenegger. "You can do both and we're proving it everyday in California. We are attacking global warming and still creating thousands of new jobs. We are leaders in energy efficiency and leaders in attracting new investment."

In addition to his energy legislation and economic plans, one of Governor Schwarzenegger's largest sponsorships was the formation of the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center (JRIC) founded by the Los Angeles Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security. JRIC has deployed BrightCom's environmentally friendly telepresence and web conferencing technologies in an effort to not only enhance their collaboration on national security and terrorism, but also to reduce excess travel costs and resources.

In the presentation, Mr. McCandless will show how telepresence solutions such as BrightCom's Visual Collaboration System (VCS) and ClearView Conferencing as well as other solutions from Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom, and other vendors can dramatically reduce an organization's carbon footprint, building a future of carbon neutral enterprises. High fidelity telepresence including full height video, gaze correction and spatially corrected audio enable people to conduct business from dispersed locations more naturally than previous technologies.

"The ability to transcend the communication limitations that businesses in the past have had to deal with will take us farther than we can imagine" said Mr. McCandless. The presentation on Global Warming and Telepresence Business solutions will take place, June 5th at Telepresence World 2007, at the University of San Diego, San Diego, California.
